AAA Call for donations to the AUBG Student Support Fund

59 more new donations needed to reach AAA year 1 Pledge participation goal of 6%

Dear Alumni,

With this message we would like to endorse the AUBG Student Support Fund campaign, which was mentioned in the May 24 email by AUBG’s President David Evans with his “ABF’s Matching Challenge to AUBG Alumni” email!

The AUBG Alumni Association (AAA) is following the developments at AUBG closely and understands that due to the COVID-19 outbreak most of the students will not be able to participate in the summer Work and Travel programs that would have enabled them to pay part of their tuition in AUBG.

At the same time, in July 2019, the AAA launched the Year 1 of the Pledge campaign in support of AUBG, where over the next 10 years, we have promised to raise more than 5 mln USD to support our Alma Matter. For the Year 1 of the Pledge, we had set ourselves a target participation rate of 6 % of all alumni.

Up until today, 246 alumni have already participated in the Year 1 AUBG Alumni Pledge (the Pledge year coincides with AUBG’s fiscal year from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020).  Huge thanks and respect to each and every one of you who have already contributed.

Our target was to achieve 6 % participation of alumni during the first fiscal year of the Pledge. The total number of AUBG Alumni is 5086 (not counting the Class of 2020) and 6 % of that equals 305 alumni.  So, as of today we are just 59 alumni shy of achieving our Year 1 Pledge participation goal!  We are very keen to reach our target and with this email we would like to shout out to all of you, who have still not joined the Pledge to do so by June 30, 2020 (20 more precious days).

You may donate to the Student Support Fund or other worthy causes in AUBG by going to: https://www.aubg.edu/give-to-aubg.

And let’s not forget that every donation is matched 100 % by the generous America for Bulgaria Foundation, so your contribution will effectively be doubled.

Please, share this message with fellow alumni. Let’s show our support and care for the University. Let’s go the extra mile for AUBG!

With gratitude and respect,

The Board of the AUBG Alumni Association
