Distinguished Alumni Lecture Series: Christo Grozev (’95)

➤ About the speaker:
Christo Grozev is a Bulgarian investigative journalist, media expert , media investor, and the CEO of Bellingcat, focusing on security threats, extraterritorial clandestine operations, and the weaponization of information. While still at AUBG, Christo was one of the founders and the CEO of Bulgaria’s first commercial radio station – Aura.
Some of Christo Grozev’s work includes the investigations into the identity of the suspects in the 2018 Novichok agent poisonings of Sergei and Yulia Skripal, which earned him and his team the European Press Prize for Investigative Journalism. In addition, he was called the “Sherlock Holmes of investigative journalism” by none other but Alexey Navalny himself, upon uncovering the suspects of Navalny’s poisoning in 2020.
Grozev is known for using open-source, social media, and other available data for investigations.
